The Vans Sk8-Hi launched in 1978 as Style 38 and was Vans' first high-top. This version drops the canvas panels for a full black suede upper, so it takes more abuse and looks sharper doing it.
Skaters made it famous. Special operations made it their own. Ask anyone in the community and you'll hear the same story: some of the world's top-tier operators have been wearing Vans for years, on the job and off it. The reasons are simple. A flat, sticky rubber sole that's quiet and lets you feel what you're standing on in the dark. Nothing about it says military. IYKYK

Care
Suede and water don't get along. Brush dirt off once it's dry, use a suede eraser for marks, and hit them with a suede protector spray before the first wear. Keep them out of the washing machine!

Vans use US sizing and the Sk8-Hi generally fits true to size. If you have wide feet, go half a size up. If you don't see your size available, send us an email at team@geardom.com and we'll try to get you sorted.

In general:
Soft goods (clothing, slings, pouches, etc.) are usually machine-washable at 30°C and air dry only — unless the label or product page says otherwise. No tumble dryer, no bleach, no “it’ll probably be fine.”
Hard goods (plates, helmets, tools, lights, etc.) should not be thrown in a washer. Wipe them down with water or a mild cleaner and let them dry naturally. No solvents, no high heat, no dishwasher experiments.
If you use cleaning methods that are not recommended by the manufacturer and something fails because of that, it’s not covered by warranty.
Treat your kit like it’s going back out tomorrow.
