PIG (Patrol Incident Gear) makes shooting gloves for soldiers, police officers and competition shooters who need to feel the trigger through the glove. The FDT in the model names stands for Full Dexterity Tactical, and the snug fit is the whole point.

Which PIG glove is for you?

PIG is the glove line of SKD Tactical, a Missouri gear company that has been in business since 1999. Every PIG FDT glove is built around the same idea. Only one thin layer of material sits between your palm and the grip, and the thumb and trigger finger work on a touchscreen. The models differ in what they add on top of that.

  • FDT Delta (39,90€): the simple slip-on glove for range days and everyday use.
  • FDT Delta+ (49,90€): the same glove with a goatskin leather palm.
  • FDT Delta FR (59,90€): flame-resistant Nomex for jobs where the uniform has to be FR.
  • FDT Alpha (59,90€): padded knuckles, a hook closure and a more protective build.
  • HADES Hot Weather Glove (44,90€): a mesh back that lets the heat out on hot days.
  • FDT Cold Weather Glove (74,90€): a wind-resistant, insulated glove for the cold months.
  • Executive Glove (59,90€): a sheepskin leather back that doesn't look tactical.
  • High Altitude Glove (HAG) (54,90€): a parachuting glove in men's and women's versions.

Every model comes in sizes S to 2XL. The Delta, Delta+, Delta FR, Alpha and HADES are available in Black, Ranger Green and Coyote.

PIG FDT Delta: the utility glove

The Delta is the PIG most people start with. It pulls on over an elastic wrist with no strap to fasten, and a bar-tacked paracord loop helps you get it on. The fingertips fold over instead of ending in a seam, so nothing presses on your nails when you grip.

PIG designed it as a utility glove for people who keep their gloves on both on and off the range. It's light and thin, so you'll wear it out eventually.

The Delta+ keeps the same pattern but swaps the synthetic suede palm for goat leather. Leather takes a while to break in, and then it outlasts the suede. The touchscreen leather on the thumb and trigger finger contains carbon, so expect a little black colour on your fingers at first. PIG recommends a hand wash and air drying to speed up the break-in.

The Delta FR is made entirely from flame-resistant materials, with Nomex fabric and the same touchscreen leather. If your uniform has to be flame resistant, your gloves probably should be too.

PIG FDT Alpha: the full-feature glove

The Alpha is the PIG glove with the most features built in. Its knuckles are padded under stretch ballistic nylon, which takes the edge off knocks without stiffening your hand. A low-profile hook closure holds the short cuff in place.

The trigger finger uses PIG's thinnest suede, and it has two flex joints instead of one. Ventilation holes in the palm and fingers let the sweat out. There's even a soft suede nose wipe for cold mornings on the range.

PIG is honest about the trade-off. It calls the Alpha a consumable that you wear until it falls apart and then replace. Thin materials and tight seams are what give you the feel, and they don't last forever.

PIG gloves for hot and cold weather

The HADES is for summers that make any glove feel like a mistake. The back of the hand is lightweight mesh, and the single-layer palm is perforated so heat and sweat can escape. Touchscreen fingertips keep your phone and GPS usable.

The Cold Weather Glove brings the FDT fit to a wind-resistant, insulated glove. All five fingers work on a touchscreen, and a silicone print on the palm keeps your grip when it's cold and wet. The short cuff tucks under a jacket sleeve, and there's a terry cloth nose wipe as well. Pair it with an Aclima merino base layer and an insulated jacket, and you'll stay out longer than your coffee stays warm.

PIG Executive and High Altitude gloves

The Executive is built on the Delta pattern with a Pittards sheepskin leather back. It's made for close protection, plain-clothes work or simply wearing around town. Nobody needs to know it's a shooting glove. The leather starts very snug, and it softens and shapes itself to your hand after a few wears.

The HAG is PIG's parachuting glove for military freefall, static line jumps and skydiving. The palm has a silicone print for gripping the risers, and every fingertip works on a touchscreen. Extra material protects the glove where the riser dive loop rubs against it. The wrist closure is set to suit the relative wind in freefall.

It comes in a men's and a women's version. The women's HAG is cut on its own women's pattern, so it isn't just a smaller men's glove. More options from other brands are in gloves.

Getting the PIG glove size right

PIG gloves fit very snug, and PIG says so itself. You'll probably have to wrestle them on the first time. Your relaxed hand shouldn't feel any hot spots, though. After a full day of wear, the gloves shape themselves to your hands.

Before you order, wrap a flexible tape around your hand at the base of the knuckles. Keep it flat and snug, not tight.

For the Alpha, Delta, HADES and Executive, PIG's chart puts these hand widths in each size:

  • S: 19-20.5 cm around the knuckles.
  • M: 20.5-21.5 cm around the knuckles.
  • L: 21.5-23 cm around the knuckles.
  • XL: 23-23.5 cm around the knuckles.
  • 2XL: more than 23.5 cm around the knuckles.

The Cold Weather Glove and the HAG are sized differently, so ask us before you assume your usual PIG size carries over. If your fingers are very thick, PIG admits these gloves may not be comfortable for you.

PIG Gloves – Finally in the EU

PIG is an American brand. Ordering from the US means paying import VAT when the parcel lands, usually with a courier handling fee on top.

So we keep PIG gloves in stock in Helsinki instead. The price you see already includes VAT, and Posti and FedEx show their delivery options before you pay.

Your new pair might arrive before the old one finally gives up.

FAQ

What does PIG FDT stand for?

PIG stands for Patrol Incident Gear, and FDT stands for Full Dexterity Tactical. FDT is PIG's line of shooting gloves, built so you keep as much feel on the trigger as possible.

PIG Alpha or Delta?

Pick the Delta if you want a simple slip-on glove for the range, work and everyday use. It's the lightest and most affordable PIG at 39,90€.

Pick the Alpha if you want padded knuckles, a hook closure and ventilation holes. It costs 59,90€ and gives your hands a bit more protection.

Do PIG gloves run small?

They fit tight on purpose, so the glove doesn't get between you and the trigger. Measure your hand width, choose your size from PIG's chart and give them a full day of wear to shape to your hands.

Are PIG gloves touchscreen compatible?

Yes. Every PIG glove works on a touchscreen with at least the thumb and trigger finger. On the Cold Weather Glove and the HAG, all five fingertips work.

Do you ship PIG gloves across the EU?

Yes. We ship from our warehouse in Helsinki to the rest of the EU. VAT is included in the listed price, and there are no customs charges on deliveries inside the EU.
