Built from Salomon’s ultra-distance trail running platform, the Genesis Forces MID GTX is a fast-moving tactical mid boot designed for long days on your feet in unpredictable terrain. It combines the comfort and natural stride of a performance trail shoe with the added structure, protection, and durability needed for duty use—so you can stay quick and stable when the pace changes from walking to moving hard.

Underfoot, the optiFOAM cushioning and a molded OrthoLite® sockliner create a supportive, breathable feel that holds up over time, helping reduce fatigue on extended movements. The activeCHASSIS™ adds control and stability through the midfoot without making the boot feel stiff or bulky, keeping it responsive when you need to change direction, climb, or run.

For wet conditions, the GORE-TEX membrane provides reliable waterproofing for sustained exposure to rain, mud, and soaked ground—ideal when you can’t afford cold, wet feet halfway through the day. The outsole uses All Terrain Contagrip® for dependable traction on mixed surfaces, and the 4.5 mm lugs strike a balance between grip off-road and smooth transition on harder ground.

The upper is tuned for field durability and low visual signature. Ripstop fabric, abrasion-resistant TPU reinforcements, and anti-debris mesh help the boot resist tearing and keep grit out, while non-reflective materials support low-profile use. Salomon’s quickLACE™ system speeds up on/off and adjustment, with a lace pocket to keep everything secured and snag-free.

Gear Care (Read This Before You Wreck It)

Always follow the manufacturer’s care instructions first. That’s the rule.

In general:


  • Soft goods (clothing, slings, pouches, etc.) are usually machine-washable at 30°C and air dry only — unless the label or product page says otherwise. No tumble dryer, no bleach, no “it’ll probably be fine.”

  • Hard goods (plates, helmets, tools, lights, etc.) should not be thrown in a washer. Wipe them down with water or a mild cleaner and let them dry naturally. No solvents, no high heat, no dishwasher experiments.

If you use cleaning methods that are not recommended by the manufacturer and something fails because of that, it’s not covered by warranty.

If something is shown as out of stock but still purchasable, that means it’s on back-order / special-order. Estimated dispatch for those items is usually 5–30 days. High-end products like night vision devices and thermal optics are most often “made to order,” meaning we source them individually per customer request.
