Outdoor Research Arete Modular GORE-TEX® 3-Finger Gloves

The Arete Modular GORE-TEX® 3-Finger Gloves are built for adaptable alpine performance in unpredictable conditions. Featuring a modular 3-in-1 design, they combine the warmth of a mitt with the added dexterity of a split-finger layout—ideal for skiing, climbing, riding, and cold-weather missions where grip and insulation both matter.

Constructed with waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® protection and insulated with recycled EnduraLoft™, these gloves keep hands dry and warm without excessive bulk. A water-resistant leather palm enhances durability and grip, while mechanical stretch fabric maintains flexibility and natural movement.

The removable fleece liner mitt is touchscreen-compatible, allowing you to operate phones or GPS devices without fully exposing your hands to the cold. When temperatures fluctuate, the liner can be worn alone or layered inside the shell for added warmth.

Full-length adjustable gauntlets and wrist cinch systems seal out snow and wind, while thoughtful details—like a nose wipe on the thumb, removable leashes, pull-on loop, and glove clip—make them practical for extended days in the elements.

Gear Care (Read This Before You Wreck It)

Always follow the manufacturer’s care instructions first. That’s the rule.

In general:


  • Soft goods (clothing, slings, pouches, etc.) are usually machine-washable at 30°C and air dry only — unless the label or product page says otherwise. No tumble dryer, no bleach, no “it’ll probably be fine.”

  • Hard goods (plates, helmets, tools, lights, etc.) should not be thrown in a washer. Wipe them down with water or a mild cleaner and let them dry naturally. No solvents, no high heat, no dishwasher experiments.

If you use cleaning methods that are not recommended by the manufacturer and something fails because of that, it’s not covered by warranty.

For in-stock items, handling time is 0–1 business days and we hand your order to the carrier right away. Shipping speed and price depend on what you pick at checkout (Posti for standard/economy in Finland & EU, FedEx for faster domestic, EU/EEA, and international delivery).


If something is shown as out of stock but still purchasable, that means it’s on back-order / special-order. Estimated dispatch for those items is usually 5–30 days. High-end products like night vision devices and thermal optics are most often “made to order,” meaning we source them individually per customer request.

If your cart has both in-stock gear and made-to-order gear, we may ship what’s ready first so you don’t have to wait.
